Summer in Manosque, 2021

Concerts, Cinema, Sports and La Fête!

After the strange weather we had this spring (a little too cold for me!), summer has finally arrived. As you can imagine, this means outdoor activities, festivals, street animations, open air cinema, concerts and so on…

The city of Manosque has prepared a nice and very complete program of summer activities. I’m pretty sure you will find something you like!

There are lots of activities for kids, families and adults. The city center will be full of life this summer!

Some of us have already attended to the “summer welcoming” last Monday on June 21, with “La Fête de la Music”.

Well, the good news is that this is just the beginning!

MINI-CONCERTS:

• This Saturday, June 26th from 7 PM until midnight, there will be a Salsa Fanfare “Son de la Calle” playing in the city center

• From next week every Thursday until the end of August from 6 PM there will be Fanfare bands playing in the city center.

• Friday, July the 2nd: Place Pagnol - Root Mean (Reggae) and at Place Saint-Sauveur - JF Quatuor (Jazz)

• Friday, July the 9th: at Place Hôtel de Ville - British Legend (tribute to the Stones and the Beatles), and at Porte Guilhempierre - Serge Colin

Additionally, do not miss:

• Every Saturday from July the 3rd, from 6 to 9 PM there will be “apéros concerts”. If you like music and if you enjoy having an aperitif, you will love this rendezvous.

• July 13: The “bal de pompiers” and the fire works for the Bastille Day. Celebrations start from 6 PM in Manosque.

• July 16 -19: “Festival Musiks à Manosque” at 9:30 pm - Parc de Drouille. This music festival has taken place every year since a couple of decades already. A good one to check out!

Every Saturday (also from July the 3rd to August the 28th) at Place des Observatins it's movie time!

3. “La boule manosquine”

August 3 - 5:

If you haven’t had the chance to play or to watch people playing aux boules, you may be interested in attending the Manosque Grand Prix in August.

The first two days the tournament will take place at Boulodrome la Rochette from 9 am. On Saturday at 3 pm there will be the “Mayor Challenge” (traditional Petanque game in Provence).

The final round will take place at Place du Terreau on the last day.

After all that running around, you can wind down with the concerts or better yet, with some delicious, locally grown Rosé!

July 2, Friday: Rosé en fête.

A lovely evening of Rosé tasting with 6 vineyards: Château Saint Jean lez Durance, Château Rousset, Domaine des Bergeries de Haute-Provence, Domaine Lou Roucas, Cellar Petra Viridis, La Cave la Madeleine, all accompanied by music.

Entrance Fee: € 10 for 6 tastings + glass. Then you are free to roam and sit down at any terraces and restaurants with the wine in hand (I think!)

The wine will be offered by the winegrowers present and the profits will go to the city's sports associations through the Manosquin Sporting Collective

As usual, the markets will continue every Saturday and Wednesday in the 'centre ville' or downtown of Manosque.

*Important information:

Parking lots may be rearranged during concerts on Fridays and Sundays.

COVID-19 recommendations are still necessary: You must wear a mask to attend to the activities and keep social distancing when is possible.
